List of MUST Software You Should Start Using in the Ph.D. Course

Professors always are happy to see you grow. They are waiting for the moment when they witness their students do something they could not do before.
The easiest spell you can spit and professors love to hear is “This is my first XXX.” “My first” is always emotional, and your first step means a lot to your professor.

There are many software programs you need to use in your research that you may not have used before. You can use these new experiences as an opportunity to say the magical words.

In science, a beautiful presentation is as important as the content. You’ll want to master graphics software (Excel, Origin, Igor, etc.) Adobe software (Illustrator or Photoshop), and 3D modeling software (3dsMax). Usually, universities provide some of the software for free or better discount prices than the software markets online for students, so make sure to check with your university before you purchase any of them on your own.

List of software you should start using in the Ph.D. course

Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
3d model  Autodesk 3dsMax (If you are students, you can use it for free with an @edu email address)
Graph software: Igor (I like Igor most), Origin, Matlab, etc
(using graph software instead of Excel is the number one distinction in scientific academia from the normal world)

In your next group meeting or one-on-one meeting with your professor, bring a beautiful picture and say THE spell. I am sure your professor will be in a happy mood.

Enjoy making stunning presentations!
